I just posted about my 2015 goals. One of them was to be a better meal planner..meaning… I need to actually start meal planning. BUT the catch is I still have a really tight grocery budget. Like super tight. I (we) would rather put more money towards student loans, and in return I have to be very smart about my grocery shopping. I don’t want to feed my family processed, freezer meals, but I also cannot just walk into a grocery store and buy whatever looks good at that time. We need healthy food but still on a budget. So I would like to introduce you guys to SavingsAnt.
SavingsAnt is an online program that matches up food at my local grocery store to not only printable coupons (directly from the site) but also to rebate apps like Ibotta. *I wrote about Ibotta and other savings app here*
Why do I need an only program to help me grocery shop? One word – HUDSON. Hudson has been with our family for one month now, and I’ll be honest and tell you that it is not at all what I expected. I was told that all babies are different (duh) but boy-oh-boy were they right. He is not at all like Greyson as a newborn. Hudson is pretty fussy, and super duper needy. Without a program like SavingsAnt there is no possible way I would be able to find the time to scour the local deals and match them up with printable coupons and or rebates. There is just no way. I will be lucky if my house is clean ever in the next 18 years at this point. Hudson is apparently allergic to sleeping, and when he is not sleeping he requires your full undivided attention….while holding him a specific way and swaying to the rhythm that suits him at that particular moment. Thankfully, he is so darn cute that I never want to put him down anyway. 🙂
Savings Ant is really easy to use. It is pretty basic looking (not many bells and whistles) but it works just as good as a fancy site. Some of my favorite features of the site are:
- Tells you where in the store the products are located. It makes writing my grocery list super easy, and based on the stores layout.
- It tells you when the coupons for the product will expire
- It makes a shopping list with a simple click of your mouse
- And, it is only $2.00 a month. I’ve tried other online systems that are a lot more money than this, and I can honestly say I did not received anything more from the more expensive sites.
You can go here and sign up for a free one month trail to see if it works for you and your family. I encourage you to give it a shot along with me for the month of January! And if you do, please let me know if you are loving it too.
