Sorry, I was not around last week. I have what feels like a million posts to write, and edit photos for, but my husband had to borrow the camera for work the past few days. BUT I can give a short update on my recipe organizing.

I created a template to organize all of my recipes. I am going to use a similar system as this one:

You can find her AMAZING meal planning system here. I would really love to get my act together, and be able to create this. But first I need more then 15 recipes! Thank you Pinterest!!

My binder categories will be:

  1. Beef
  2. Poultry and Pork
  3. Side Dishes (This is the one I need the most help with!)
  4. Desserts
  5. Seafood
  6. Soups/Salads and Appetizers
  7. Pasta

Each category will have a corresponding color (just like Megan has) I have not decided on the color scheme yet, but I have created the uniform template.

This is what I am thinking:

Recipe Template copy

Apparently “Pasta” will be the color blue. : )

The box in the upper right hand corner, is so I can alphabetize my binders, so it will be much easier to find a recipe.

I created a Family Rating area. This recipe was a HUGE hit, so it got 5 stars from the Butler household.

So I found the recipe, made the recipe, approved the recipe and then I typed the recipe up, printed it off and it will go in the corresponding binder. I can easily add throughout the years to the binders as my recipe collection grows.

Hopefully it will grow soon, because we are eating the same meals over, and over, and over again.
