So it did not take long for me to get busy on some projects in this house. I decided that I wanted to make the office / guest room #1 my first project. I figured if I had a pretty place to do work, I would get more work done! Win-Win in my book.

So this is the space that we started with:

*In the picture below you can see where the wallpaper was already peeling. (Well it had a tiny tiny peel and then I did the rest….) Also, take a look at the wallpaper in the hallway! YIKES! removing all of that is my current project.

So I started peeling, and peeling and peeling. About 4 naptimes and two long nights later I had this:

And I started panicking! Realizing the wallpaper looked a heck of a lot better then this, and then realizing I was not 100% sure of what I was doing, I panicked. I convinced my husband to run to the paint store and help me pick out a color (Since I am color “impaired). We picked a up a few samples and rushed back and put them on the wall to see which one we preferred. We were looking for a Greyish Purple. We wanted to “work with what we had” so we did not want to clash with the purple carpet.

We went with the last color. **I forget the name, but if someone wants it just leave a comment and I will look it up for you**

So we painted, two coats of paint and one coat of primer. Obviously we did the primer first and then two coats of paint…

Once the paint was up, it was time. Time to build my massive desk!! This was what I was most excited about. I wanted a huge “L” shaped desk, and I wanted a piece of wood hanging down in the front 1) to hide any mess from the cords and 2) that I could “flip-up” and use as extra work space.

So, we built! And here she is:

At this point she still needed some love. Some paint, and some accessories, but I was already loving it!

Next up, photos of the desk and the room as it is now…
