I am going to start right off with my excuses, today.
Our house has a huge garage. It is two bays wide, and each bay is two cars deep. So it can hold four cars.
When we moved in on January 5th, it was a nice day; considering it was January in Upstate NY… Meaning we were not in the middle of a blizzard. But, it was cold, and the snow was going to start at any minute. So we backed up our U-Haul truck, and stated to unload everything into the garage.
We then moved the necessary boxes into the house to unpack.
Many, A lot, okay most of the boxes stayed in the garage. And a lot of furniture that was not going to be going into the house, stayed in the garage. Leaving it looking like this:
Yeah. We are not getting any cars in there! The other bay is filled with empty boxes…
Yes, it is completely insane and there really is no excuse for it!!
I have been struggling with picking my next room makeover. I really want to tackle SO many, and I am ready to start them all. But I do not want to get in over my head, with too many projects happening at once.
But when I saw that Org Junkie is hosting another challenge, and this one is completely focused on garage organizing, I decided to join them! Thankfully I have a whole month to get this entire space all pimped out. Or maybe just clean?
I am excited to make this space not only functional, but enjoyable to spend a little time in. I am also looking forward to parking our cars in there!!
I really do not want to spend much if any money on this makeover. I am debating on painting the cabinets, to help lighten up the space….we’ll see.
Here are some photos, I found on Pinterest, and just trolling around on the web that I am using for inspiration / motivation. But I’ll be honest I know it wont be even close to looking like this, since I am not investing money into this project… But a girl can dream, right?
Based on everything I have found, my biggest challenge will be not having walls… We have exterior walls but the inside is unfinished. Hopefully, I can still make it work!!
Any tips out there, that I should know before starting this huge mess?
