Part of Confessions of a Homeschooler’s curriculum / lesson plan, is at the end of the week you read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and add your letter to your tree.

Here is the thing…we did not have a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree, and I could not find one online. So I asked my husband to draw one on Greyson’s roll of craft paper.DSC_8871

He did, and I used crayons to color in the tree. I then cut it out and took it to the local print shop and asked them to laminate it. All-in-all it was less than 10 dollars.

I used wall tack to attach it to a wall in his bedroom.

next up – I needed the letters. As part of the LOTW curriculum she provides all of the letters to print and cut out for the tree. I started to print and cut them out…but quickly thought that there had to be a better way.

And there was!

I saw this in the back to school section at Wal-mart. Boom! (less than 5 dollars, too)

It has TEN of every letter, and it also has numbers 0-9. They even have a sticky line, like post –it notes. So they stick to the wall very easily, and are completely repositionable.

And just like that we have a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree in the house. Greyson thinks it is great, and has enjoyed adding his letters so far.
