These Free snap cube number and pattern cards have been a favorite activity in our house for a while – especially the snap cube pattern activity cards! These are similar to flashcards, but instead of memorizing, the kids can grab a card from the deck, and then using snap cubes, recreate the number, pattern, or finish the pattern!
I have noticed that Greyson likes his toys in waves. He will be really into something, and then it sort of fades away. Give it a few months (maybe even more), and then he is back to being obsessed with the toy all over again. This is true for his snap cubes. I have found, that having something to do with the toys keeps his interest up, versus just dumping the snap cubes in front of him and saying “have fun” – Enter these Snap Cube Cards!
{ Snap Cube Cards }
I bought him these snap cubes years ago (when I first started out with homeschooling preschool). At first, he struggled with being strong enough to snap them – but once he got it, he used them all the time. He used them to create patterns – and as math counters. Update – He is six years old now and uses them more and more often!
He took a short break from them – and is not back to using them to help show his math equations – and of course, to build really tall castle towers. 🙂
Update- I have posted new cards that go from 0-20! Head over here to grab that freebie!
What Will You Receive?
- Snap Cube Cards with the numbers 1-9
- Snap Cube Cards that shows many different patterns. The child has to put in the correct snap cube to complete the pattern.
- There are two ways to do this:
- Starting out – have them place the snap cube directly on the card, right where the corresponding color cube is.
- As they advance, they can just look at the card and complete the sequence!

Wait a minute!
After making this free snap cube number and pattern activity cards- I ended up recreating it so you could print the numbers (1-9) through your local photo department!
Just head over to my Flashcard resource page, and grab those! Then you can save them to a USB or upload them online to your photo center and pick them up within the hour! I love having these on 4×6 photo paper. It saves a ton of money on ink, there is no cutting on your part, and everything is neat and tidy!!
Taking it a step further-
As I was creating the snap cube cards, it got me thinking about how these cards, along with some snap cubes, would make an excellent Christmas (or Birthday) gift for kids. I know that I would have loved for Greyson to receive this as a gift in years past!
It is such an easy, thoughtful, and useful gift! All you have to do is throw some snap cubes in a cute jar that I snatched up for a dollar at TJ Maxx, along with an adorable tag (here), and you have an excellent gift. Throw in my snap cube cards, and you have a fantastic gift!!
This would also be a great “make-ahead” gift to have on hand. You could buy the snap cubes, and some little mason jars and pre-make these. This way, you always have a last-minute (but still great) gift on hand! I actually think that these snap cube cards, along with a small jar of snap cubes, would be a great valentines day gift for his classmates! *I will change out the tag, of course!)
