Uppercase & Lowercase Letter Matching **FREE Printable

When working through teaching the alphabet – one area that your child will soon become an expert on is Uppercase and Lowercase letter matching.  I wanted to make an activity that is super easy to just print and give to the kiddos to work on.

This is a great activity – if you have a child that finishes their work early, and you need them to sit for a little while longer.

I love that this also works on drawing straight lines. I gave my son a ruler to draw straight lines from the Uppercase letter to the Lowercase letter. He loves the added fun of working with a ruler!

Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Matching – How it works:

It is pretty self-explanatory, but your child draws a line from the CAPITAL LETTER (Left Side) to the lowercase letter (right side). If your child is anything like Greyson they will meander their line to the correct letter, it may take a few weird turns along the way; but as long as it gets there! I actually have this printed out and on a to-do list for today. I am planning on teaching Greyson how to use a ruler to get a nice straight line from letter to letter. Then hopefully he will work his way off of the ruler.

Top Tip:

We started doing letter matching like this on our trip to Myrtle Beach back in June. I actually took his Personal White Board and wrote 4 CAPITAL LETTERS on the left side, and the matching but “Mixed Up” lower case letters on the right-hand side. He used his dry erase marker to draw a line to match them up. We did this A LOT during our trip down. Using the whiteboard was a great introduction to this concept without having to print paper and waste it while they figure it out. Now that he has the concept down and is really good at matching them I feel confident that he can do way more than four per page, and on paper. **we shall see!**
