If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you’ll know that a few weeks ago we introduced Greyson to the wonderful world of chapter books.
For a while now I thought he might be ready for chapter books. He has a great attention span when it comes to reading and truly enjoys it. I asked around, and the book My Father’s Dragon was highly recommended. Well… not so much for us! It was a flop for Greyson. He is still too young for this book, but maybe in a year or so.
HOWEVER, I have found a collection that was a HUGE hit for him! The Mercy Watson Boxed Set: Adventures of a Porcine Wonder collection. They are fantastic! They are longer books – broken up into short chapters. However, they still have colorful and inviting photos (something My Father’s Dragon) is missing. The dialogue is easy for him to follow and understand. I cannot say enough good things about this collection.

So if you are out searching the internet looking for recommendations on chapter books best suited for the preschool age, I am throwing up my hands and shouting for you to read these books!
I know you guys are probably eager to get to the giveaway but, I thought I would create something for everyone. Since we are now into chapter books, I thought it would be cute to make Greyson a customized bookmark for the Mercy Books.
So I ended up creating this cute little pig themed corner bookmark.

Are these the books you were telling me about? I love Kate DiCamillo! I read Because of Winn Dixie with some of my third graders 🙂
