I don’t think I have talked about anything money saving related since I shared our Soon-to-be Debt Free workbook.  Well, I have a lot that I need to fill you all in on, but that is for another day. Today I am sharing my favorite apps that will save you money when you are grocery shopping!

I feel like that with how amazing technology is these days, clipping coupons will become a thing of the past. And, to be completely honest I am okay with that…as long as I can get my savings another *even easier* way!

7 Apps You need to save money on groceries - from www.onebeautifulhomeblog.com

Here are my 7 favorite apps that: save you money on groceries:

Ibotta:  Better than coupons

“Before you go shopping, find rebates on your favorite brands, discover new products, and unlock cash back by completing fun tasks. Unlocked rebates will show up on your Ibotta shopping list.”

  • Available on both Apple and Android devices.
  • After shopping you can take a photo of your reciept and “redeem” your points.
  • Points = MONEY!
  • $5.00 minimum to reach a payout
  • It takes 48 hours to receive your money
  • Once you reach $5.00 you can have the money deposited into your Paypal or Venmo account.
  • Visit HERE to see a list of supported stores

Walmarts Savings Catcher:

This is one of my favorites! This app works in conjunction with with Walmart, only. All you do is enter your Walmart receipt number, and the app will search surrounding stores for better advertised prices. IF they find one they will pay you back the difference! This app helps you continue to save money on groceries, even after you’ve purchased them!

  • Available on both Apple and Android devices.  **I actually enter my receipts online – through Savings Catcher**
  • You receive your money back on an Walmart Rewards eGift Card.
  • It takes 2-3 days to see if you are getting any money back
  • Can submit up to 7 receipts per week
  • There is NO minimum before getting your eGift Card.

Shopkick:

Shopkick is so easy and awesome!  All you have to do is walk into a participating store and you’ll earn “kicks’!

  • Available on both Apple and Android devices
  • Kicks (aka points)= Gift Cards
  • To earn more points you can scan specific items while at the store
  • Just by opening the app everyday (Even if you are not visiting any store) you earn daily bonus points
  • I Love Shopkick because with practically no effort I am earning kicks towards gift-cards to use on Christmas gifts!

Target Cartwheel:

I am guessing most people already know about and love Target’s cartwheel app!

  • Available on both Apple and Android devices
  • Before shopping / checking out at Target open your cartwheel app they offer additional savings on certain products / brands / shopping categories.
  • You can scan the bar-codes of the items you are going to purchase to see if there are any Cartwheel discounts to use to save money on your purchase
  • NO coupons required. You just click “add” and the discount/deal will show up under a single electronic bar-code right inside the app.
  • Just have the cashier scan your bar-code to see the savings!

Snip Snap: Never forget a coupon

“scan, save, and redeem printed coupons on your mobile phone!” So this app may not help you save money on groceries, but it helps you save money on everything else; so I had to include it! I always forget my store coupons, and this app can save my day!

  • DOES NOT WORK FOR MANUFACTURE COUPONS!
  • Available on both Apple and Android devices
  • Use this to scan those coupons you get in the mail (i.e- Bed Bath and Beyond, Jo ann Fabrics, etc). You know the ones – you get them in the mail and “save” them, but completely forget to bring them to the store with you.
  • Allows you to search their database to “Clip” coupons while you are in a store

Checkout51:

“Every Thursday morning, Checkout 51 updates with a new list of offers. All you have to do is pick the ones you like, purchase them at any store, and upload a photo of your receipt through our mobile app or website. When your account reaches $20, we send you a check.”

  • Available on both Apple and Android devices

Shopmium:

“Shopmium’s offers are only available to ours users: you won’t find them anywhere else and they’re the most advantageous on the market. They are private offers, available in every store the product is sold.”

  • Available on both Apple and Android devices
  • Earn rebate money sent straight to your bank account OR Paypal account
    1. Select and offer
    2. Purchase product
    3. Scan receipt bar code OR take a photo
    4. Receive your rebate directly into your Paypal account OR bank account

I love your grocery planning sheets. Do you have any suggestions on how you manage and keep track of all the different shopping apps to make sure you are getting the best deals and have the correct receipts across apps? Seems like a lot to keep track of and wondering if you have any inside tips.
