Recently I keep coming across the tip to use a highlighter and write the same letter all over a standard piece of paper – then have your child trace the letters with a pen or marker. I thought it was a great idea, but I did not have a highlighter that did not bleed all over the page and cover Greyson’s had. He is a lefty after-all.
So what else would I do? Yep. I made my own highlighter inspired handwriting practice pages!

They only took me a few minutes to create. Honestly, it would have taken me a lot longer to write the letters out on 26 different pieces of paper. Now I have the digital file that allows me to just quickly print off the sheets or single sheet for extra handwriting practice!
I think these types of sheets are better than the dotted letters. And here’s why:
- The colors are easier for kids to see
- The letters give kids a definitive line to not go out of
- Easier for younger kiddos!
