A few weeks ago I shared how we unexpectedly had to spend over 2 grand. The majority of the bills were due to Scott getting sick, and then Hudson needing his tongue clipped, and being diagnosed with a breathing disorder. Just this past week or so the medical bills have started rolling in.
In all of our previous years our health insurance covered all medical bills and we would just have a $25.00 copay. As of January 1st we now have to pay out of pocket $1,500 and then our insurance will take over and pay 100% of the medical expenses for the year.
Well, with the stack of bills coming in I realized pretty early on that I needed a system (form) to track all of these payments.
- I want to know when we reach the $1,500 deductible
- I want to make sure we don’t end up paying more then the $1,500
- We have a lot of doctors visits at different facilities and different doctors within a few days of each other. I don’t want to mix them up, causing me to overpay on our deductible – when the insurance company should be covering it.
- These payments are tax deductible, and I need a system to stay on top of these expenses throughout the year
So I made an Insurance Deductible Tracker, and added it to my 2015 Soon-To-Be Debt Free Workbook.
