It is that time of year! Halloween is over, and Thanksgiving is only a few short weeks away followed by Christmas and New years! We are all busy-busy-busy!
We are recouping and sorting though a ton of photos from Greyson’s birthday over the weekend! I hope to be back later today to share the pictures with all of you. In the meantime, however, I am kicking off the next Holiday with some adorable Handwriting Practice Thanksgiving Themed sheets!
I know I have been sharing a lot of themed Handwriting Practice sheets (and plan on continuing) for a couple of reasons:
- Like I have said before, all it takes is the right “theme” to get your preschooler excited about learning a new subject!
- THIS! Handwriting Practice is a very important component to your preschoolers education! With technology taking over everything, it is imperative that our kids learn this skill. Read that article and you’ll see why.
-
Handwriting can change how children learn and their brains develop. IU researchers used neuro-imaging scans to measure brain activation in preliterate preschool children who were shown letters. One group of children then practiced printing letters; the other children practiced seeing and saying the letters. After four weeks of training, the kids who practiced writing showed brain activation similar to an adult’s, said James, the study’s lead researcher. The printing practice also improved letter recognition, which is the No. 1 predictor of reading ability at age 5.
