Thanks to the positive reinforcement of our Counting Caterpillar Greyson has grown is counting capabilities at a quicker rate than I anticipated. which is great – so I have decided to start expanding our “Preschool Math” work. I figured we would start doing actual math around the new year but I think he is more than ready.
So as a fun and easy introduction to Preschool Math I made these 1 more, 1 less worksheets for him to complete.

This printable comes with 4 worksheets that gradually work up from the number 1 all the way to the number 20.
How to use these:
- Have your child identify the number written in the center circles
- To the right have them add one number from the center circle
- To the left have them subtract one number for the center circle
Your child can “write” in the numbers anyway you / they want! Here are some examples
- Greyson used his number stickers! It made the worksheets colorful and he also worked on his fine motor skills
- You can use number stamps! Greyson does not own these yet but I am pretty certain Santa will be bringing them to him
- They can write their letters! Greyson loves these markers, and uses these pencils
- You can laminate these worksheets and use Crayola Markers to write the numbers in multiple times.
- You can put the worksheets on a cookie sheet and use magnets to put the correct numbers on the line
Here is a close up shot of what the worksheets look like:
Since these worksheets are meant as an introduction for Greyson I included a number line along the bottom. If you want it to be more challenging you can easily cut the number line off of the bottom or simply fold it under.
Just remember these are meant for preschoolers – they are just starting to learn so please do not make it too difficult or expect too much out of them! We want to make sure our kids have a love for learning rather than associate it with stress and failure!!
I hope you enjoy these! – I would love to know what method your little one used to fill in the numbers!
I will be back with other ___ more, ____ less worksheets!
